Our first raffle tee shirt winner was Tom Traudt, #900032! Tom has donated the prize of four tickets to a Marist Women's Basketball Game so a few kids from the Astor Home for Children in Rhinebeck can go to a game. Thanks, Tom!

Sinter-Celebration this Saturday 9/12 at Oblong Books in Rinebeck at 7:30 PM

It’s a Sinter-Celebration this Saturday 9/12 at Oblong Books in Rhinebeck at 7:30 PM. Stop by and say hello! Have a sweet and share a smile! We’re introducing our new Sinterklaas coffee table book and just getting together to have a good time. Meet Jeanne Fleming, and she’ll sign your book! Some of the photographers and book designer, Elena Erber, will also be on hand.

The book is for sale, along with our unique-have-to-be-seen raffle tickets – why, they look just like tee shirts! We’ll have lots of prizes from local shops and restaurants, and a few surprises as well. It’s going to take some help to pull this year’s celebration together – won’t you join us and show your support? We’ll have light refreshments and a good time. Tell your friends and join us.

Fans of Sinterklaas... We’re going to be at the Rhinebeck Farmers Market this Sunday 9/6/9 from 10:00 to 2:00. Get a look at our fabulous coffee table book, check out our combination tee-shirt/raffle tickets, and bring the kids to make origami cranes for this year’s celebration! It’s not too early for some holiday spirit! (And you know, locally grown produce makes wonderful gifts, too!)

Sinterklaas Table at the Rhinebeck Village Sidewalk Sale

Come visit the Sinterklaas Table at the Rhinebeck Village Sidewalk Sale, this Saturday and Sunday, August 15 and 16, from 9:00 to 5:00.

We’ll be selling our brand new Sinterklaas Tee Shirts, in both children’s and adult’s sizes. Adult sizes will double as a raffle ticket in our Grand Sinterklaas Prize Raffle to be held later in the year. Cost $20.

We’ll also be previewing our extraordinary Sinterklaas Coffee Table Book, and taking orders. This fundraising book takes a full color look back at Sinterklaas Rhinebeck 2008, with photos and stories about all the festivities! It’s magnificent, truly, and we’ll be taking orders at the Sidewalk Sale!

We’ll also be collecting Shiny Stuff for this year’s crowns and branches workshop!! Don’t sell it in a tag sale! Bring us your buttons, bows, lace, “jewels”, sequins, ribbons, beads... Anything shiny to add to our piles of goodies. All the Town’s Children will have the opportunity to make their own crown and branch to get ready for the day they all become Kings and Queens for a day, December 5, 2009!

Looking forward to our Sinterklaas Fundraising Committee meeting this evening... or is it just an excuse for cocktails at sunset on the patio? Our hostess sure picked the absolutely perfect day!” And so it was: an evening full of wine, prosecco, munchies, and dedicated committee members.

We are on the move with our new Sinterklaas book (a must see and a must buy – details coming soon!) and conjuring up new ways to raise much-needed money...

Sinterfriends, you’ll see: the photos will transport you back to last year’s grand event... We need funds, funds, funds to do it again in 2009!
